Medisense Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this policy”) regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in the services provided by our company (hereinafter referred to as “this service”).

1. User Information Collected and Methods of Collection

In this policy, “User Information” refers to information related to user identification, behavioral history on communication services, and other data generated or stored on the user’s device (such as smartphones or PCs) that is associated with the user or their device, and which is collected by the Company in accordance with this policy.

The types of User Information collected by the Company through this service, depending on the method of collection, are as follows:

(1) Information Provided Directly by the User

Information provided by the user in order to use this service includes:

•  Email address

•  Various health data stored in Apple iOS HealthKit

•  Other information entered by the user into input forms designated by the Company

(2) Information Provided via Linked External Services

When the user permits linkage with external services such as social networking services while using this service, the Company may collect the following information from those services based on the user’s consent at the time of authorization:

•  User ID used on the external service

•  Other information disclosed by the user to the linked service based on the privacy settings of the external service

(3) Information Collected During Use of the Service

The Company may collect information regarding access status and usage of the service, including:

•  Device information

•  Information about app operations

•  Information regarding app crashes or malfunctions

(4) Use of Analytics Tools

This website uses “Google Analytics,” an access analysis tool provided by Google. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect data. This data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals.

1.  To register users for the service, verify identity, calculate usage fees, and provide, maintain, protect, and improve the service

3.  To respond to violations of the Company’s terms, policies, etc. (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”)

4.  To notify users of changes to the Terms or other important updates

5.  For purposes incidental to the above

1.  To create statistical data processed in a format that does not identify individuals, related to the Company’s services

3. Methods for Notification, Disclosure, Consent, and Requests to Stop Use

For the following types of User Information, the Company will obtain the user’s consent prior to collection:

•  Device information

Users may request to stop the use of all or part of their User Information by configuring the designated settings within the service. Upon such request, the Company will promptly suspend use in accordance with its prescribed procedures. However, for certain items of User Information that are essential for the provision of the service, collection or use may only be suspended if the user withdraws from the service through the Company’s designated method.

4. External Transmission, Third-Party Provision, and Use of Information Collection Modules
To deliver targeted advertisements using User Information, this service incorporates the following information collection modules. Accordingly, User Information may be appropriately provided to the providers of these modules.

5. Provision to Third Parties
The Company will not provide personal information included in User Information to third parties without prior consent from the user, except in cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws. However, the following cases are excluded:

1.  When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the intended purpose

2.  When personal information is provided due to business succession resulting from a merger or other reasons

3.  When personal information is provided to information collection module providers as specified in Section 4

4.  When cooperation is necessary with national or local government agencies or their contractors in executing legally mandated duties, and obtaining user consent may hinder the execution of such duties

5.  Other cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

When a user requests disclosure of their personal information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Company will confirm that the request is made by the user and disclose the information without delay (or notify the user if such information does not exist). However, if the Company is not legally obligated to disclose the information, this does not apply. Please note that a handling fee of ¥1,000 per request will be charged.

7. Correction and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If a user requests correction of personal information on the grounds that it is inaccurate, or requests suspension of use on the grounds that the information is being used beyond the disclosed purpose or was collected through fraudulent means, the Company will confirm the request is from the user, conduct necessary investigations without delay, and based on the results, correct or suspend use of the personal information and notify the user. If the Company decides not to correct or suspend use based on reasonable grounds, it will notify the user accordingly.

If a user requests deletion of their personal information and the Company determines that the request should be honored, it will confirm the request is from the user, delete the personal information, and notify the user.

If the Company is not legally obligated to correct, suspend use, or delete personal information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws, the provisions of Sections 7-1 and 7-2 do not apply.

9. Procedure for Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Company will review the operational status of its handling of User Information as needed and strive for continuous improvement. The Company may revise this policy as necessary. In the event of changes, users will be notified via in-app display or on the Company’s website. However, if changes require user consent under applicable laws, the Company will obtain such consent through its prescribed method.
